Perhaps the moral of the story is that "all the kings horses and all the kings men", working together, formed too large a group for effective decision making. Perhaps the horses working alone, or the men working alone, could have achieved better results? IMO people tend to underestimate the horses, but either way, this is clearly a parable of right-sizing teams, delegation, and the need for decision owners in corporate environments.
